Carrot Pupcakes
Who doesn’t love cupcakes? We don’t know anyone either. Now your favourite doggy can enjoy them too. These healthy carrot pupcakes are a delicious treat for those pooches who deserve an extra special snack. Get baking!
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE PUPCAKES
- 50g shredded carrots
- 1 egg
- 60g apple sauce
- 150g whole wheat/grain flour
- 20g oatmeal
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Water (if required)
FOR THE ICING
- 100g soft cheese
- 50g apple sauce
DIRECTIONS
FOR THE PUPCAKES
- In a bowl mix together shredded carrots, egg and applesauce.
- In a separate bowl mix the flour, oatmeal and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the carrots, egg and applesauce.
- Add a few tablespoons of water if your dough is too thick or dry.
- Spoon your mixture into a greased muffin tin or desired mold.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes, then set to cool.
FOR THE ICING
- Mix together the soft cheese and the apple sauce.
- Spread or pipe onto your pupcakes as desired.
Make sure to always adjust your dog’s daily food allowance so they don’t gain weight while enjoying their delicious new snacks.
