If you’re looking for some great dog walks in Devon then you’ll be spoilt for choice as there are lots of options, here are just some of our favourites!
Fingle Bridge, Dartmoor
Known as one of the most enchanted place to visit in Devon, this is a great place to walk a dog in Devon. With views over the Teign Gorge and an abundance of unspoilt woodland, there is an easier route or a more challenging trail depending on how energetic you and your pup are feeling. Stop off for a bite to eat along the way at the Fingle Bridge Inn which is also pooch friendly.
Beesands
If you’re a dog walker in Devon that is looking for a fairly challenging walk with steep climbs then this could be a great place for you to head to. With gorgeous sea views and plenty of sand for your pup to stretch his legs - you might even be lucky enough to spot some local wildlife including seals! There are also many dog friendly pubs along the way so you can stop off for refreshments as you go.
Tarka Trail
Loved by locals and holiday makers alike, this walk is extremely enjoyable and is mostly flat which makes for a leisurely afternoon stroll. The entire walk is 32 miles but you may not want to do all 32 miles in one go, so you can do it in stages and stop off for a drink or snack beside the sea whilst taking in the scenery.
Haldon Forest Park
If your pup likes a forest adventure with plenty of twisting trails and squirrels to chase then Haldon Forest Park is the walk for you. With miles upon miles of trails winding through the forest and a good amount of off-lead areas so your pup can run off some energy. There are over 3,500 acres to explore, so your pooch is sure to be tired after a visit here!
River Avon Dam
Does your pup love to swim? This walk offers a good mix of flat and hilly paths as well as the opportunity to take a dip in the water. With a free car park as well as stunnings views of the reservoir and surrounding areas, this is a great place to spend the afternoon with your four legged friend.
Bakers Park/ Bradley Manor
If your dog keeps trying to make fetch happen, why not take them for a run out at Bakers Park. Particularly beautiful in Summer with a large meadowed area and woodland there is a variety of trails to explore and plenty of open space for games of frisbee.
