Dog Walking in Newcastle
Newcastle upon Tyne is a city on the River Tyne in northeast England, known best for its buzzy nightlife. Not so well known but equally lovely, are all the dog walks in Newcastle as well as the pup friendly establishments dotted around - we’ve listed some of our faves below.
Leazes Park
If you are dog walking in Newcastle, a great place to start is Leazes Park - the city’s oldest park and the perfect place to walk a dog. The park is built around a beautiful lake, so you can relax and take in the scenery while your pooch has a quick swim. There are also tennis courts and a bowling green nearby if you’re feeling sporty!
Gosforth Central Park
Located to the north of the city, close to the high street and shopping centre, this park is fairly small at only 7 acres. Despite its size, it’s still a great spot to walk a dog in Newcastle. It offers respite from the bustle of the city and also comes complete with bandstand and tennis courts.
Walbottle Brickworks and Orchard
This beautiful nature reserve is another reclaimed piece of land. Formerly a quarry and brickworks, this site is now a marvellous place to enjoy the outdoors. The space is great for off-lead exercise for your dog or just a calm stroll while you enjoy the range of flowers and wildlife.
