Leazes Park

Walker Riverside Park
Situated on the banks of the River Tyne, Walker Riverside Park boasts gorgeous scenery and an interesting array of wildlife. According to the council, “You can regularly see wading birds along the river and in recent years there have been an increasing number of sightings of grey and common seals.”
The park covers about 75 acres and is now mostly wildflower meadows, woodlands and grassland, a far cry from its industrial past and now a wonderful place to spend time with your dog.

Walbottle Brickworks and Orchard
This beautiful nature reserve is another reclaimed piece of land. Formerly a quarry and brickworks, this site is now marvelous place to enjoy the outdoors. The space is great for off-lead exercise for your dog or just a calm stroll while you enjoy the range of flowers and wildlife.
There is also a community orchard where raspberries, plums, apples and gooseberries can be picked during certain times of year. Regardless of the time of year, you can still check out this lovely space.
Gosforth Central Park
Gosforth Central Park is located to the north of the city, close to the high street and shopping centre. Though this park is small at 7 acres, it’s still a great spot for a walk with your dog and a nice break from the bustle of the city. Additionally, the park includes a bandstand, bowling green and tennis courts.
Paddy Freeman's Park
Located to the north east of Newcastle’s city centre, Paddy Freeman’s Park is a popular spot. It boasts a boating lake and a large play area for children as well as a bowling green, tennis courts and a cafe. This beautiful park is a great place to enjoy a walk with your pup.
