In the south of the city is Platt Fields Park, an Edwardian public park with a lovely boating lake. Described by some as a very peaceful place to walk your dog, there are both on and off lead areas where you and your dog can enjoy the open space and lovely scenery of Platt Hall.

In addition to the boating lake, dogs and owners alike will be happy to know that the park also boasts wooded glades with walkways throughout, hilly areas, including one high one used for flying kites, several large expanses of grass and a secluded freshwater brook that runs through the park.
