A Dog Friendly Day Out in Edinburgh

6 November 2025

Looking for a pawfect day out in Scotland’s capital? 🐾 Edinburgh isn’t just famous for its cobbled streets, castles, and cosy cafés. It’s also a tail-wagging haven for dogs and their humans! From scenic strolls and pup-friendly landmarks to cafés where your four-legged friend will be treated like royalty, there’s no shortage of adventures to enjoy together.

Sip & Bark

Start the day off right with a dog friendly brunch in Edinburgh. Sip & Bark offers an all day food & drink menu. For human guests, they specialise in delicious croffles (flaky croissant dough pressed into waffles), melting dipping toasties and vegan options. You can enjoy sweet hot drinks, from espresso to pistachio latte. If you’re feeling more adventurous they have delicious cocktails (alcohol free versions also available). Most importantly, they have a varied menu for our furry friends, with donuts, cookies, doggy biscuits and canine cupcakes. You can upgrade with a puppuccino or enjoy some dog friendly ‘beer’ or Posh Pooch ‘wine’.

Get ready to walk off your matcha latte at Princes Street Gardens. Set in the heart of Edinburgh’s World Heritage site, this Green Flag park is placed between the new and old towns, overlooked by the stunning Edinburgh Castle. The space is dotted with majestic monuments and statues, commemorating influential Scots and those we lost in the world wars. Be sure to visit the (fully working) floral clock - it was commissioned in 1903 and blooms between July and October.
