What is a Cavachon?

A Cavachon is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. They’re a small, white, fluffy dog, whose popularity has risen substantially in the last 20 years thanks to their adorable looks and charming nature.

How much exercise does a Cavachon need?

Cavachons have a substantial amount of energy, and enjoy nothing more than interactive games with their owners. They have a playful and fun-loving nature, and generally require at least a 30 minute walk every day, although they wouldn’t say no to more.

Alfie loves walking and will go anywhere - next to the canal, on the beach, or even just around the block.

- Pauline, owner of Alfie.

What is the temperament of a Cavachon?

Given they are a crossbreed, the Cavachon inherits characteristics from both the Bichon and the Cavalier. They have a very loving, gentle nature, making them great family pets. They thrive off human company and would never say no to a cuddle on your lap.

Willow just loves company, she thinks everyone is her friend and she adores ALL children! Her favourite things include snuggles, playing in the garden and going on short walks.

- Pamela, owner of Willow.

Are Cavachons easy to train?

The Cavachon is a smart breed of dog who pick up on training quickly and follow obedience well. Training a Cavachon is generally an enjoyable, stress-free experience, and they enjoy getting things right for their owners.

We regularly do training sessions with Ralph, which he loves, and he adores learning new tricks.

- Debra, owner of Ralph.

That being said, here are a few funny quirks that some of our members’ Cavachons have:

Claire, owner of Harley:

Harley just throws himself on his back and expects a tummy rub from everyone he meets.

Karen, owner of Lexi:

Lexi has an obsession with socks. As soon as I take them off she runs away with them in her mouth.

Marie, owner of Amber:

Amber loves sausages and napping.
