Halloween is pawsome fun, but can be tricky for some pups. Our four legged friends need to be kept away from the sweets, and may be overstimulated by the noise, trick or treating and costumes. Luckily, there are plenty of fun alternatives to celebrate the spooky season with your canine pals!
Halloween Themed Pup up Cafe

Pup Up are running multiple Halloween pop up cafes for dogs on the 25th October 2026, at the Lodge, Wootton. The small dog event is dedicated to pint-sized pooches, making it pawfect for poms, pugs and mini poodles.
There’s also a pop up cafe for dachshunds in Northampton, if you want to treat your very own Halloween-ie to a small dog party. With photo ops, unlimited pup cups, agility fun and prizes for the best dressed sausage! Alternatively, if you live with a gentle giant, there’s another Halloween event for large dogs at the same venue. Featuring a ball pit, supervised off lead time and unlimited treats for all doggos!
Dog Friendly Ghost Walk

Dog friendly ghost walks are a great way to celebrate Halloween, and Yorkshire is the perfect area to try, with classic guided strolls in York, Whitby and Harrogate. You can explore the darker side of the county’s charming historic spa towns and cobbled streets with your beloved pooch by your side. Follow your guide through the lamplit streets, stopping for refreshment at haunted hostelries along the route. Learn the spooky stories of the Shambles, the shades lurking in gothic minsters, and the tale of the debauched Duke of Buckingham.
Visit a Haunted Inn

Walking your furry friend in the afternoon instead of the evening can be a great way to keep them calm and happy. And why not take a walk to a haunted dog friendly inn? The award winning Jamaica Inn, set on the windswept Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, is a pawfect example. This Grade II listed inn, dating back to 1750, is haunted by legends of intrepid smugglers - and some say ghosts. The Inn is so notorious that it has its own in-house paranormal team, and the British Paranormal Association has awarded it a stamp of approval as a haunted establishment.
On a more mundane level, Jamaica Inn offers pet friendly dining, welcomes pooches with treats, and the two of you can even stay over in one of their dog friendly rooms. It’s the ideal place to refresh yourself and your pup after a misty stroll on the moors.
