March Breed of the Month - French Bulldog

Yet another month has gone by, but not to worry it’s Breed of the Month time! We are celebrating French Bulldogs this month, so without further ado here are some pawsome facts about the gorgeous Frenchies.

Did you know?

  • Their origins are unclear but it’s been found that their roots trace back to England.
  • Their ears come in two different shapes, rose-shaped and bat-shaped.
  • Their popularity peaked in the 1900’s but is on the rise once again, when 100 Frenchies competed in Westminster Club Dog Show.
  • They are often referred to as “Frog Dogs” due to the way they lay - splooting!

French Bulldogs make for a great companion dog and family dog, they are sweet, friendly and cuddly. They can be great watchdogs as they don’t often bark without reason. They are also are social butterflies, enjoying the company of other canines.
