One of the major benefits to being a dog sitter in Reading is all of the great dog friendly walks and places to visit with a four legged friend here are just some of the lovely local walks.
Donnington Castle
It’s best to visit the castle on a sunny day as it can get very windy during winter months, but it’s beautiful all year round. With plenty of on-lead and off-lead areas as well as hilly and flat areas, this makes for a varied place to walk a dog in Reading. Why not stop off for a spot of lunch in Donnington village after your walk or take a picnic if the weather is nice.
East Isley
If you’re a dog walker in Reading looking for a chilled and mostly flat walk this is a perfect place to visit. Take in the rolling hills and beautiful views that surround the area and enjoy the local wildlife and lovely pond on your walk. The paths are wide which make it perfect for dog walking but the tracks can get quite muddy in winter, so be sure to pack your wellies if there’s a chance of rain.
Blacks Park
Black’s Park is a lovely county park with plenty of forested paths. There is a large lake if you’re walking a dog that likes to swim as well as plenty of area’s for your pup to be taken off the lead. Refreshments are available on route if you get thirsty.
Greenham Common
A large peaceful area to explore for both pup’s and two legged friends, although it can be known to get windy due to being such a large open space. There is a range of forest trails to visit, as well as lots of opportunity for those all important games of fetch. Be sure to look out for dragonflies and birds as well as roaming horses and ponies.
