Alexandra Park

If you’re dog sitting in Glasgow and are looking for a short dog walk and possibly a picnic (weather permitting) then head to Alexandra Park. With maintained paths and flower beds as well as two ponds to explore, this makes for a chilled afternoon stroll with your pup.

Boden Boo & Erskine Beach

As recommended by one of our lovely owners - this is a totally pawsome place for walkies. There are a number of woodland walks as well as a few trails to take you down to Erskine beach where your pup can take a swim. Be sure to pack a picnic as there are plenty of seats to rest while your pup makes friends with the other dogs on the beach.

Dalmuir Park

Extending over an area of approximately 7 hectares, Dalmuir Park was originally a designed landscape. With an abundance of flowers, lots of open space as well as designated picnic areas this makes for a great dog walk especially in warmer months.

Cathkin Braes Country Park

This is a slightly more rough and ready park, perfect if you’re a seasoned dog walker in Glasgow looking to pop your wellies on and get stuck into a challenging walk. The views are second to none and well worth the hilly inclines.

Chatelherault Country Park

When mentioning dog walks in Glasgow it’s only fair that Chatelherault Country Park should get a mention. Come rain or shine this is a great big open space with many riverside paths to explore, beautiful in all seasons.

Cowan Park

If you’re walking a dog in Glasgow and are looking for somewhere with plenty of open space for endless games of fetch this is the park for you. With mainly flat terrain and great views, Cowan Park is a perfect Sunday afternoon walk.

Rouken Glen Park

Located in south west Glasgow, Rouken Glen Park is 143 acres of doggy paradise. Lots of open parkland, woodland, streams and a pond make it a little slice of countryside in the middle of an urban landscape. The park was gifted to the people of Glasgow to use as a place of leisure and enjoyment in 1906.

There’s lots for you and your dog to enjoy in the park, with a network of paths through all terrains to suit every walking ability. The park is going through a makeover thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund which will see improvements to many areas including the boating pond and walled gardens.

Pollok Country Park

This magnificent country park is home to the world famous Burrell Collection and Pollok House, described by the National Trust for Scotland as “Scotland’s answer to Downton Abbey”. Pollok Country Park was named Best Park in Europe in 2008, so it’s a must see for your and your doggy friend.

With over 360 acres to explore, you and your dog can enjoy a walk through historic woodland, dip your paws in the pond or play fetch in open parkland set in stunning surroundings. If you fancy learning a bit about the park, then you can take one of the educational and themed trails.

Mugdock Country Park

Mugdock Country Park is located 10 miles north of the city centre and offers a real taste of the countryside for you and your dog. There are lots of things to do in the park, including orienteering, trails and walks. The park offers fantastic views of the nearby Campsie Fells - a range of volcanic hills.

There is over 640 acres of land to enjoy and a whole range of events that take place throughout the year. With its varied terrain, from moors and woods to lochs and reservoirs, the park is sure to keep you and your four legged friend entertained.

Kelvingrove Park

One of Glasgow’s oldest and most popular parks, Kelvingrove Park is situated in the west of the city and is home to the spectacular Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. A little smaller than many of its local counterparts at 85 acres, Kelvingrove still has a lot to offer you and your dog.

The park straddles the River Kelvin and is somewhat a haven for urban wildlife, with inhabitants including grey heron, cormorant, kingfisher, red fox and otters. There are lots of beautiful monuments to see too so keep your eyes peeled when walking round.

Glasgow Green

Situated on the north bank of the River Clyde and just a short walk from the city centre is Glasgow Green, the oldest park in the city. Despite being in the heart of the bustling city, there is lots and lots of space in Glasgow Green, over 135 acres of it!

The People's Palace and Winter Gardens, a museum and glasshouse are situated in Glasgow Green, along with West beer brewery. There is a large network of paths that covers about 2-3 miles of walking possibilities, and enough space to throw a thousand tennis balls, if the mood strikes!
