What our members say

"Our dog, Star, is so much happier thanks to her borrower, Andrea. She wasn’t sure how she’d get on with a Poodle, having never had one, but she met Star and they bonded straight away! It’s safe to say Star absolutely adores Andrea and the long walks they enjoy together." Star's owner, Wendy

BorrowMyDoggy has given me the opportunity to have great walks and cuddles with dogs in my local area around my own schedule. I love taking Holly for a walk! It's nice to know that I am helping her out and making a real difference to Holly and her owner" Holly's borrower Joanne

Dog Walking in York

River Ouse

If you’re out and about dog walking in York, a great place to visit is the River Ouse. The UK’s sixth largest river flows through York’s city centre, and your pup can take a quick dip during your adventure. There are areas near the water for off-lead frolicking for your dog, and the city centre location means there are lots of cafes and pubs in the area to take a break.

Fishponds Wood and Beech Grove

Three miles east of York’s city centre lies Fishponds Wood and Beech Grove. It’s a fantastic place for a dog walk, with some perfect spots to take a break for a picnic. While there, you and your dog can have a wander around the area of wetland, which is home to the wood’s fishpond. A great place to visit if you’re a dog walker in York.

Reighton Sands
