What our members say

“I joined BorrowMyDoggy when I rescued Roxy. She had massive separation anxiety and a fear of being left alone. Thanks to BorrowMyDoggy, I met a wonderful woman who could look after Roxy while I was at work. I cannot thank BorrowMyDoggy enough for being a community of dog lovers there to help Roxy and I when we needed it the most.” Roxy’s owner, Samantha.

“My children were very timid of dogs, so we wanted to help them appreciate how fun and friendly they can be. It’s been brilliant seeing the children enjoy Jack so much and getting to know Jack’s owner Mary, has definitely been an unexpected pleasure!” Jack’s borrower, Julie.

Dog Walking in Doncaster

Whether you are walking a dog owned or borrowed, there are plenty of great places to walk a dog in Doncaster.

Sandall Park

If you’re looking for a great picnic spot with your pup with plenty of mixed terrain to explore, Sandall Park is a lovely place to visit. There’s a lake if your pooch likes to swim as well as a cafe if you’d like to stop for refreshments, definitely worth a visit if you’re walking a dog in Doncaster.

Lakeside Village

A scenic and beautiful dog walk. Located next to Keepmoat stadium, walk along the pebbly beach and watch the swans swim by. Parking is available on the road, we recommend visiting at sunrise or sunset where the views over across the water are at their best.

Warning Tongue Lane Wood

As a dog walker in Doncaster, a great place to visit is Warning Tongue Lane Wood. With long mossy clearings, this is the perfect opportunity for your pup to stretch his legs and indulge in many games of frisbee (but be careful not to lose your toy to the mossy undergrowth). Dogs are welcome to be off lead here and you are likely to come across many other four legged friends for your pooch to play with.

Melton Woods

Whilst listing our favourite dog walks in Doncaster it seems only fair that we mention Melton Woods which is (in our opinion) top of the walks! With a mixture of tall trees, undergrowth and open space your pup will have plenty to see, smell and explore. NB: keep an eye out for horse riders who may pass by from time to time.

Tia Rescue is a greyhound rescue sanctuary with a lovely pooch friendly cafe. With homemade cakes and treats for humans and a great doggy menu including pupcakes, stew of the day and homemade dog biscuits for pups. After lunch, why not ask to visit ‘the hounds’ and take one for a short walk, as they are always looking for help with dog walking.

The Victorian Tea Rooms

If you’re looking for a lovely afternoon tea then you simply must visit The Victorian Tea Rooms. Pooches are welcome here and are provided with water bowls, there are also a range of crafts and preserves available to buy during your visit. Make sure to book though as they tend to be very popular!

Angel Inn

The Angel Inn is a lovely place to eat and sleep in Doncaster, that welcomes pups and two legged friends alike. The pub has its own resident canine, Max the German Shepherd who is very gentle and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you’re visiting Doncaster with a four legged friend.
