Teach your dog to not jump up
A sweet, little pooch with floppy ears and a bushy tail is sitting tall ready to jump up and greet their human.

Teach your dog to not jump up

If your dog, owned or borrowed, jumps up when they greet you, here’s a quick training trick from our partners at Cuffe Vets:

  • Some dogs are so excited to meet people that they will jump up to say hello.
  • When this happens, turn away and wait until they’re a calmer before returning their greeting.
  • Rewarding this behaviour with an equally excited greeting can encourage it and many owners try hard to train their dogs out of this habit.

Put this tip into action and let us know if it helped your dog, owned or borrowed, not jump up.
