Let’s be honest, the 9 to 5 at the office can often be a bore. The long hours, the same old desk, and the awkward silences can often bring your workplace environment down. But there is one sure fine way to brighten the mood in any office. Bring your doggy to work! Here at BorrowMyDoggy we believe that with the right set up and everyone on board, some offices can be dog friendly and here’s a few adorable reasons why.

  • An instant stress reliever

Lets paint you a picture; that deadline you’ve been working on is looming, your boss has asked you to take on another project, and you’ve got a presentation to give tomorrow. Stressed? Yes. Well, what’s that I hear you say? Take a 5 minute break? Good idea. But what if that 5 minute break could be made 100 times better with a furry friend. It has been proven that petting a dog releases the happy hormone oxytocin and decreases the primary stress hormone, cortisol - so get cuddling.

  • A conversation starter

Dogs are not only great companions that bring joy and happiness to all of those around them, but they often can stimulate great conversation. A study conducted by Central Michigan University also found that when dogs are present in an office setting, employees were more likely to trust each other and find collaboration easier.

So what better way to get to know your work colleagues than over the love of dogs.

  • A breath of fresh air

Doggies need walks. Humans cooped up in offices also need walks. Do you see where we are going with this? When employees bring dogs to work they have to take regular walks and from regular movement get benefits such as: improved concentration, sharper memory, faster learning, prolonged mental stamina, enhanced creativity and lower stress. Win win or woof-woof as we like to say at BorrowMyDoggy.
