Clapham Common
If you’re wondering where can I walk my dog in Clapham, perhaps try Clapham Common. It’s the largest triangular park in Clapham, with 220 acres of green space, the largest Victorian bandstand in London and three ponds. Surrounded by lots of cafes, pubs and restaurants, it is a great place to spend a day at the weekend. They had the world’s first dog vending machine. The dog had to pull a bone which is attached to a lead, when they do this, a tennis ball shoots out which the dog has to fetch. They are then rewarded with a sample of dog food!
Battersea Park
Battersea Park is in the Borough of Wandsworth and is one of the best places to take your dog for a walk in London, so if you’re a dog walker in Clapham, why not try here? With 200 acres of green space, it is located right by the River Thames.
They host a Dog Show each year in support of Armed Forces day where you can enter your dog in various competitions from best rescue dog to best trick.
Lots of the events held in Battersea Park raise money for the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, a well known rescue centre. They have a lovely cafe overlooking the boating lake which is very dog friendly.
If you sit inside the Pear Tree Cafe for a coffee or one of their pastries you will get all sorts of dogs running in and out as they are allowed off the lead. They also have lots of treats on offer for the dogs and will provide extra water bowls if needed after dog walking in Clapham or Battersea.
