The grand finale of Pooch Factor!
Many of your pooches dusted off their dancing shoes and donned their feather boas to enter our Pooch Factor competition. The contest went on for 4 weeks and was a howling success, with over 150 of you entering photos of your pupstars showing off their star quality, for the chance to win some pawsome prizes courtesy of Purplebone and Buyagift, and a £500 donation to Dogs Trust on their behalf, high paws!
We narrowed down the finalists to our top ten and sent these to Dogs Trust for judging. Here are their results and reasonings:
“Phew, what a splendid shortlist – and what a tough competition to judge! After much deliberation, Dogs Trust choose these three beauties with some very special facets to their poochy personalities:”
Winner - Twiglet

He wins because he exemplifies the wonderful emotional support dogs can give to their owners in times of need. So many dogs have this capacity for caring for humans. Twiglet’s owner is grieving the loss of her father, as she says, “My father passed away last Christmas and Twiglet has always been there to get me out on his walks and to lick away my tears.”
First Runner Up - Riley

Riley came a very close second, as he’s obviously a very loyal and loving chap. Riley’s owner says that Riley could spot when she was going to have a fainting fit, and he stayed with her the whole time, and she came too to find his face resting on her. I think most people would be happy to awaken to find Riley’s sweet face staring at them. It would certainly make me feel better.
Second Runner-Up - Max

Max came a third because not only is he a handsome fella but because he has really been through the wars and has come out smiling. His owner says, “Max was rescued earlier this year, sick and hairless after being neglected. He is now getting his health, hair and confidence back in abundance!” Just looking at this photo I can see that Max has a resilient character plus is a wee bit cheeky – an irresistible combo!
Congratulations to our winners - we hope they love their pawsome prizes!
Also, we mustn’t forget our 4 weekly winners, Twiglet, Franco, Pudsey and Odin, who are pictured below and all won a toy for some tail-wagging fun.

BorrowMyDoggy was overwhelmed by the number of entries we received, and we can’t wait to run another competition soon so that we get to see lots more photos of your cute pooches :)
Woofs and tail-wags,
