About David Cuffe
Bio
David Cuffe, a distinguished Veterinary Surgeon, graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1974. Commencing his career in a small animal hospital practice in Sutton, Surrey, he later relocated to Kennington in South London after four years.
After a temporary stint in California, David returned to the UK, where he established a new practice in Stockwell, South London. A decade later, he expanded his professional reach by opening another practice in Clapham. With a deep-rooted connection to Clapham and years of residence in the area, he eventually took over an existing practice on Abbeville Road, where he dedicated 25 years to his craft.
Throughout his journey, David's ventures included the establishment of hospitals in Mile End Road, Clerkenwell, and Camberwell, alongside other practices in Bermondsey, Brixton Hill, and Mitcham. Notably, he played a pivotal role in designing the HAWS animal centre in Athens. David's passion for veterinary advocacy led him to be a founding member of the British Veterinary Union (BVU) in Unite.
Having retired in 2019, David authored the book "How to Have a Dog." In early 2020, amidst the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, he relocated to Somerset alongside his wife and their lurcher, Ella. With two adult sons and two grandchildren, David now indulges in writing a novel for leisure, alongside his avid pursuits of reading, writing, running, and cooking. His wealth of experiences and expertise continue to shape his captivating literary journey.
