Improve Your Borrower Profile | 3 Essential Tips

We’re so excited to have you as part of the BorrowMyDoggy community, because it’s our members that make our platform pawsome.

But maybe we can help to make your experience even better?

The first thing an owner sees when they are looking for a borrower or receive a message from one is their profile, and they want to make sure that you would be the best possible match for their pooch. So let’s make sure your profile is as good as it can be with our top 3 tips.

1. Make your first impression count

When an owner has a look at your profile you want them to see you as the wagtastic human you are.

Profiles with photographs are 15 times more likely to be favourited and receive a message, so make sure to put up some nice pics. Photos of yourself looking happy, friendly, approachable and maybe even with a doggy pal (owners love to see borrowers who look comfortable with pooches) are pawfect.

No need for dressing up fancy or adding a filter, we know your borrowed doggo will love you just the way you are!

2. Make it personal

Let people get to know you and what you want to get out of being a member of the BorrowMyDoggy community, and why you’d be the ideal borrower for their dog. And be sure to let your pawsome personality shine! If you’re stuck for ideas:

  • Are you wanting to go for walks, have a sleepover buddy or have a companion for working from home?
  • Do you have your own pooch and you are wanting to make doggy friends for them?
  • Why do you want to meet a dog (miss your dog at home, recently lost your buddy, looking for a pawsonal trainer for walking motivation etc)?
  • What can you offer a dog (owned or looked after one before, love going on lots of walks and giving cuddles, have a dog-friendly place for overnight stays)?

3. Keep your profile honest and up to date

Ok so you don’t need to give people your life story on your profile page, but it can be really helpful for owners to know when you’re available, and that you keep that info up to date with any changes. If you can help out lots and are available all the time, great! If you’re not and looking to borrow a little less often that’s fine too.

Remember, every match is different, just be sure to keep your profile clear, honest and up to date.

As an extra tip, if you’re regularly and reliably  available during the week, be sure to say you are, as a lot of owners are needing a bit of midweek help at the moment so you’ll be sure to stand out from the pack.

If you need any more help with your profile be sure to speak to our help team, otherwise once you have your pawfect profile ready, it’s time to get messaging.
