10 fun things to do with your dog this Easter

Long weekends are fast approaching so we thought we’d put together some pawsome ideas of things you can do with your dog this Easter. What better way to spend that extra free time than with your best furry friend! Take a look at the fun things you can do with them below:

Easter Egg hunt

Easter Egg hunts aren’t just for humans! You can adapt the hunt to be dog friendly like using their favourite treats instead of chocolate eggs. Pop the treats in a kong, toys, or simply scatter them around. You can scatter treats around the house or around your garden, depending on what’s available to you and of course, on the weather!

Take a weekend trip

Fancy taking a short break away for the Easter weekend? Need some dog friendly accommodation? Take a look at our dog friendly holiday accommodations and start planning some time away with your dog.

Visit a National Trust or English Heritage park

Who doesn’t love a good day out in your local area of natural beauty! Many of the sites are dog friendly and it’s a great day out for the whole family. We recommend checking on their website or contacting them directly to double check what areas of the park are dog friendly.

Go on a shopping spree

Everyone deserves a treat every now and again, so why not take your pooch to your local pet shop or Pets at Home. Most pet stores, includings Pets at Home let your pup in too, so why not let them choose a toy or even a tasty treat for themselves!

Do some baking

Easter is a great time to bake, especially if you have some family coming round. That being said, your furry friend shouldn’t miss out on a homemade treat. Baking something for your pooch is easier than you think, we have a few easy homemade dog recipes you can try. We’re sure your doggy will love them!

Take a new route

Dogs love their walks, so why not take them to a new or different place to their regular stomping ground. They’ll love the new environment and the exciting sniffs that come with it. If isn’t not easy to take them somewhere new why not take them for an extra long walk instead.

Go to the seaside

We do love to be beside the seaside! Celebrate the weather getting slightly warmer by taking a trip to your closest beach. It’ll be a fun day out for you and pup! Make sure to double check which parts of the beach, and what time they're dog friendly.

Teach them a new trick

Most dogs love to learn, so take some time out of your busy weekend to teach them a new trick like bowing or touching an object. Remember to take your time with them and remain positive!

Grab a bite to eat

There are a number of places around the UK which allow dogs on their premises, and this includes a number of pubs! Find your local dog friendly establishment and pay them a visit for a drink, a bite to eat and take your pup with you!

Find some buddies!

Fancy making some new friends? Over the weekends there are very often group walks, or did you know as an owner on BorrowMyDoggy you can contact other owners too? Simply create a borrower profile and take a look at the other doggies in your area! Or of course as a borrower you can find a lovely doggy to borrow over the Easter weekend too!

We hope we’ve given you a few things to do with your dog this Easter. We’re sure you’ll all have a wooftastic time! Feel free to share your time with your doggy, borrowed or owned with us on our Facebook wall or on Instagram using #BorrowMyDoggy.
