November Breed of the Month - Miniature Schnauzer

Another month has been and gone and we can’t believe it’s nearly time to start thinking about Christmas! But before that we have our November Breed of the Month. This time we are celebrating the adorable Miniature Schnauzer. Here are some pawsome facts about this month’s breed.

Did you know?

  • They’re often classed as Terriers, however, unless the rest of breed group they originate from Germany.
  • Their name comes from German word Schnauze meaning muzzle.
  • They’re thick, wiry double coat naturally keeps debris and dirt off. They also don’t shed much.
  • Unlike the Poodle the three sizes of Schnauzers are completely separate breeds.

This playful and alert little dog are ideal for families as they are sociable dogs that love to be around people. They are known to be obedient and quick to learn. As they have a low shedding coat they are ideal for people allergic to other dog breeds.
