BorrowMyDoggy News

The bone-ly way is Essex!

A massive high paws and congratulations to Dogs Trust on their pawsome new centre. Team BorrowMyDoggy had the great pleasure of attending the official opening of the new Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Wickford, Essex this week. The new wagtastic centre is the charity’s 20th rehoming centre and will care for more than 1,000 rescue pooches every year, adding to the 17,000 already cared for by the trust across the UK.

We were amongst over 120 guests who attended the official opening including Councillor Mo Larkin the Mayor of Basildon, Dogs Trust Chairman Philip Daubeny, Dogs Trust CEO Clarissa Baldwin, the lovely staff and volunteers of Dogs Trust Essex and local school children from North Crescent Primary in Wickford.

The real stars of the show, however, were the pooches. Following a bone-a-fide star performance from some of the dogs from the centre in the doggy parade, we were treated to a tour of the facility to meet the VIPs (Very Important Pooches).

We hope that this wagtastic new space will bring happiness and joy to these and many more wonderful pooches as they look for their forever home :)

For anyone interested in finding out more about Dogs Trust Essex, including learning about some of the pooches who are looking for a loving new home, please contact the team on 01268 535050 or visit them at Dogs Trust Essex, Nevendon Road, Wickford, Essex, SS12 0FH.
