Last weekend the BorrowMyDoggy Team donned their winter woolies and trotted down to Earls Court for London’s biggest dog show - Discover Dogs, organised by The Kennel Club. The event, which took place over two days, attracted thousands of humans and hounds alike and was an absowoofly wonderful showcase of everything doggy from all across the UK.
As well as meeting lots of pawsome people, the BorrowMyDoggy Team also met some unbelievable pooches! The Kennel Club revealed ahead of the event that despite there being 211 different dog breeds officially recognised in the UK, just ten breeds dominate the canine population in Britain, making up more than half of all pedigree dogs. Almost all of these 211 breeds of dog attended the show last weekend and we were lucky enough to meet some of these wagtastic hounds! From the big - Irish Wolfhounds and Pyrenean Mountain Dogs - to the small - Chihuahuas and Dachshunds - all our furry friends were present and counted for and on fine form!
A pawticular highlight was watching the wonderwoofs of the Southern Golden Retriever Display Team. There was also more doggy agility than you can shake a stick at and labradorable pups galore! We met up with our friends at Vet’s Klinic and made some fab new friends, in pawticular Parcels4Paws who send monthly boxes of toys, treats and health & hygiene products to our four-legged friends.
There was so much to see and do that we could hardly take it all in! We can’t wait to go back next year and do it all again - High paws!
